Neptune Theatre, Halifax

The Neptune Theatre is a professional theatre company located in downtown Halifax that performs new and classical plays. Neptune opened on July 1, 1963 with a production of Major Barbara.  Neptune was named after the play Théâtre de Neptune performed at the French habitation of Port Royale in the early 17th century.

The Millennium Stamp

1.  Millennium Collection Album

The Neptune Theatre stamp was one of 68 Millennium stamps first issued in a hardbound book, Canada Post The Millennium Collection : Expressions of a People, on September 15, 1999. The stamps were printed two to a page.




The Neptune Theatre and Stratford Theatre stamps were printed on the same page.


2. Millennium Collection Souvenir Sheet

Canada Post Corporation re-issued the Millennium stamps in panes of 4 stamps issued over a three month period from December 17, 1999 to March 17, 2000. The souvenir sheet with the Neptune Theatre stamp was released on February 17, 2000.
